Common Cannatonic Cannabis Plant Problems
While Cannatonic offers significant rewards, it’s essential to be aware of its sensitivities to maximize your harvest.
Heat
High temperatures could lead to heat stress, scorching or drying. Exposing the plants to low temperatures risks stunting their growth by lowering metabolic processes leading to low cannabinoid and terpene synthesis.
So, how do you manage temperature for maximum yield?
- Maintain a consistent temperature range of 20-28°C (68-82°F).
- Use adequate ventilation and air conditioning to regulate the temperature levels in an enclosed indoor setup.
- Consider low heat emitting lights such as LEDs in place of traditional HPS lights. And for the sake of high-intensity lighting needs, ensure a canopy-to-light distance of about 50 cm.
- For outdoor setups, plant or pot the plants in a spot with partial shade from direct sunlight
- In cases of high temperatures, mulch is used to retain soil moisture and regulate the soil temperature.
- Space multiple plants correctly for optimal airflow. This ensures that no microclimates with higher temperatures from around the plant.
Watering
Cannatonic plants can be pretty thirsty, especially when grown outdoors. The plants require optimal moisture content to thrive.
Underwatering risks them drying out and stunted development due to poor nutrient transportation. Overwatering, on the other hand, waterlogs the growing medium, leading to oxygen deprivation of the roots, impaired nutrient absorption, diseases and pests.
Here are some essential tips to consider when optimizing your watering plan:
- Stick your finger into the top inch or two of your growing medium and only water when it has dried. A moisture reader can provide more accurate readings.
- A mix of perlite or coco coir improves the texture of your growing medium to enhance its drainage properties. Outdoor growers should ensure the ground is well loosened before transplanting.
- Use a perforated pot that allows excess water to be drained from the growing medium.
- Watering early in the morning or late into the evening minimizes evaporation and high moisture retention in the growing medium.
An important mention is using clean pH-neutral water to avoid introducing pests, diseases or pH imbalance problems.

Growing Characteristics
Cannatonic CBD Seeds are not a newbie grower’s game. This strain requires a medium to high experience to master its full yield potential.
Plant Size & Structure
Cannatonic plants grow up to a relatively short height with indica-like characteristics. The structure has one central cola with several mini colas from its lateral branches.
Indoors, growers get to enjoy its easy-to-manage height of about 60-100 cm. You can also grow Cannatonic plants with stealth outdoors, as it gets up to between 80 and 120 cm on average.
Flowering Time
Our Cannantonic plants are of the photoperiod feminized variety. What this means is that you can score a faster maturity by shifting light cycles in the pre-flower stages.
Compared to other strains, this strain expresses an easy-to-spot lime green color change as it edges closer to its bloom. You can expect to see the plants finish in 63-70 days. Outdoor harvests are typically done in October.
Yield potential
With the right conditions, Cannatonic produces generous yields that are fit for most commercial operations. Growers can get up to 500 grams per square meter indoors and an outdoor bounty of 400 grams per plant.

Pro Grow Tip : Flush your lines regularly to remove the build up of salt and other residues. This will maintain your Ph Levels when watering your cannabis plants
Origin and History
Developed by Spanish cannabis giants Resin Seeds, Cannatonic is one of the most renowned CBD strains on our list. It is no wonder that it is nicknamed” CBD Queen.” Initially, it was bred for medical purposes but gained high recognition in the 2008 Spannabis edition around the same time it was launched.
This strain’s unusually high CBD content with a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio comes from a cross between NYC Diesel and Reina Madre. This genetic excellence continues to play a vital role in establishing a new generation of CBD-rich marijuana phenotypes. Today, there are three main Cannatonic phenotypes; equal part CBD to THC (main), higher THC with moderate CBD and higher CBD with moderate THC.
