Here we will cover the key factors you need to watch out for to get the best results of Mac 1.
Germination of Mac 1 Seeds
Germinating your seeds is a crucial step to ensure healthy roots and strong growth. Our company recommends that you follow the guidelines that come with every order. With our extensive experience in germinating thousands of seeds, following these instructions will ensure your seeds grow healthy and quickly.
Lighting Environment
Whether you are growing in an indoor setting or outdoor setting, proper lighting is crucial in how Mac 1 grows. It is important for indoor set ups to use LED lighting or HID to provide the full spectrum of light needed. HID lighting, such as HPS (High Pressure Sodium) lamps, have been an industry standard for many years. However, make sure to use AC and be mindful of the heat they generate as it can cause stress to the plants. During the vegetative stage you will use 18 hours of light and 6 hours of darkness. To change over to the flowering stage, you will switch your lighting over to 12/12.
Outdoor lighting is a bit different and easier to use. You need to ensure that you are getting direct sun light for 6 to 8 hours per day. If you are in hotter climates with intense sunlight, position your plants near taller plants to provide some shaded areas. There are also shade cloths that can be used as well.
Temperature and Humidity
Temperature in a vegetative stage can be 21c to 28c (75 degrees) and humidity can be about 65%. You need to make sure you have proper humidification in your grow room. Without this there is a chance of bud rot. Once your plants start to produce mold, your whole crop is done. Moldy weed is unhealthy and carcinogenic. During the flowering stage, reduce your temperature down to 18c to 24c (60 degrees) and humidity down to 40% to 50%. In the late flowering stage, we like to get the temperature down as cold as we can. This helps bring out the colors in Miracle Alien Cookies and help with resin production.

How To Grow Mac 1 Seeds Successfully
We have covered the staging environment above and now its time to look at all the other factors to help this strain thrive at its full potential.
Soil and Growing Medium
Using high quality soil is essential for this product to grow at its best. We like to use Canna Coco which retains moisture and allows air to move freely through the medium to ensure your cannabis plants receive more oxygen. As well, hydroponics is another excellent option for growing this seed. This will bring grow nutrients via water directly to the roots, bypassing the soil or growing medium.
Watering
Maintaining the correct Ph Level is important in watering Mac 1 cannabis plants. Ensure your water source has a Ph of 6.3. When you are bringing the water from your reservoir to the plants, it is important to flush out your lines. There can be a salt build up and which can alter your Ph level by the time the water reaches your plants. This is critical as we tested unflushed lines can lead to discrepancies in Ph Levels.
Pro Grow Tip : Flush your lines regularly to remove the build up of salt and other residues. This will maintain your Ph Levels when watering your cannabis plants
Nutrients
During the vegetative stage you can use nitrogen rich fertilizer. This helps promote lush vegetative growth. When you are in the flowering stage, switch over to potassium fertilizer to help with flower development. Proper nutrients during the flowering stage is important as this is the period when the Terpenes begin to come out and THC starts.
Harvesting
Drying and curing is the most important process in your grow. Some cultivators will cure for a week and some will do it for as long as 3 weeks. Everyone is different in their own methods. Dehumidification is a big part and needs to be around 45% – 55%. If the stem at the bottom breaks then the plant is ready, however if it breaks around the head, then it is way too dry. The finish of the product depends on this stage. You want buds that are moist and not looking dried out. Always know your grow room and your dry room.
Origin And History
Mac 1 is extremely popular and came from a very fascinating backstory. MAC stands for Miracle Alien Cookies and was created first by a renowned breeder named Capulator. “Cap” for short, created this cannabis strain in Redondo Beach, California back in 1996.
The tale of its origin, is one of the best stories in Cannabis History. One day, while doing laundry, Cap had about 15 seeds of Starfighter and Colombian Gold in the pockets of his pants. By the time the wash was done, he accidently germinated the seeds creating a hybrid mix now named the Miracle 15.
The new Miracle 15 was then crossed with Alien Cookies to make the first ever Mac 1. The chart below illustrates the lineage and history of this magical cup winner:
