Northern Lights Autoflower was one of the best autoflowers I have grown indoors. I was feeding every 2 to 3 days and was able to get exceptional yields.

Ideal Conditions for Growing Northern Lights Autoflower
Growing these amazing Autoflower Cannabis Seeds is a pretty straightforward adventure, even with minimal skills and experience. Thanks to the 80% Indica dominance, these plants achieve a manageable height of 80-130 cm indoors and 130-160 cm outdoors. The many branches and bushy nature make it an easy candidate for pruning.
Our seeds are properly bred and will grow 100% feminized plants. So, how long does it take for Northern Lights Autoflower to grow? Growers enjoy a fast flowering time of only 9 weeks from seed to harvest indoors. Outdoor growers can expect to harvest around 10–12 weeks after sprouting.
This version of the popular Northern Lights strain includes ruderalis genetics. These plants will not need lighting changes to transition from vegetative to flowering stage. Its adaptability to temperature changes makes it perfect for northern climates. However, it yields higher in warm temperate climates or in regions with long summers. Typically, you can expect 500–550 gr/m2 indoors and 170–220 gr/plant outdoors.
By learning its robustness and yield potential, you can optimize the growing conditions to get the best of your setup. Here are the environmental requirements you need to focus on.
Lighting Needs
Northern Lights auto flowering thrives in any lighting condition. However, in order to maximize their growth and their yield, go for 18 hours of light in the vegetative stage. A 12/12 schedule during budding helps slow down foliage formation while maximizing bud development. Use a high-quality LED or HPS light with reflective material for enhanced light distribution.
Temperature Range
Northern Lights autoflower plants yield well under a consistent temperature range of 21°C to 29°C during the day and 14°C to 21°C during the night. Lowering the temperatures at night helps the plants relax as they mimic natural conditions outdoors.
Humidity Levels
As for humidity, aim for a 40–50% level during the vegetative stage. To reduce the risk of bud rot and mold, lower it to 30-40% as the plants enter the flowering stage.

Essential Techniques for Growing Healthy Northern Lights Auto Plants
Apart from a favorable environment, here are the techniques that will help you grow strong, healthy plants with maximum yields.
Pest Management
Preventing pests helps to keep your plants free from common diseases. Maintain cleanliness in the growing space or room and destroy anything that would harbour the pests. You should check for any early signs of pest or disease troubles.
If you notice damage from pests in your plants, try organic solutions like neem oil or turmeric and garlic sprays. Organic solutions are safer for your plant, the environment, and yourself. You can also consider beneficial insects like ladybugs that put off common cannabis pests like spider mites and aphids.
Nutrition
When your Northern Lights Autoflower seeds sprout, be cautious with fertilizer use. The seedlings have a delicate structure, including the developing roots, that could easily burn. A loose organic medium helps the seedlings to grow optimally.
During the vegetative stage, Northern Lights auto plants tend to grow rapidly. They will need nutrient supplements as the growing medium gets depleted fast. Gradually increase the feeding, offering a nitrogen-based program that is balanced with other macro and micro-nutrients. Too much fertilizer at this stage risks the plants growing too tall and weak.
Once the flowering stage starts, phosphorus and potassium help the Northern Lights autoflower to form denser buds rich in terpenes and cannabinoids. Overfeeding during flowering shocks the plants and hampers optimal bud formation. Towards the end of flowering, stop the feeding and flush your plants with clean water repeatedly to get rid of excess nutrients.
Watering
For the best watering practices, the rule of thumb is to prevent a soggy growing medium. Before watering, ensure that the top inc or two of your growing medium has dried out first. Only use clean water with a balanced pH of 6.0 to 7.0 to maintain high nutrient uptake.
Pro Grow Tip : Flush your lines regularly to remove the build up of salt and other residues. This will maintain your Ph Levels when watering your cannabis plants
Origin And History
Northern Lights autoflower is fast becoming a favourite for novice and experienced growers and users alike. Its rich heritage is the main reason for its rise to stardom. Northern Lights Autoflower was born from crossing it with ruderalis genetics.
The autoflowering version preserves the original potency, flavour, yield, and most importantly, the bud appeal while making it easier to cultivate with its autoflowering trait. While the identity of its original breeder remains a mystery, its place is cemented in the cannabis world forever.
